Rupert Hartzhauser (40) has, as of the 1st of November 2016, taken on the role of CMS Director of Business Development and is therefore now responsible for CMS's business development at an international level. After four years as Head of Business Development at CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz, he now heads up in his new position the business development teams in more than a dozen countries.

Rupert Hartzhauser, born in Lower Austria, comes to Frankfurt as an absolute expert in his profession and brings with him more than ten years' experience in the legal sector. His move from Vienna to Frankfurt am Main will give him the opportunity to further advance CMS-wide business development directly from the CMS headquarters, providing support for 60 offices in more than 30 countries. It also means he will become part of the CMS Legal Team under Matthias Lichtblau, Executive Director of CMS.

"CMS recognised the importance of business development very early on, pushed it and developed it from year to year, in close co-ordination with the relevant responsible partner" said Rupert Hartzhauser. He is looking forward to his new responsibilities and was pleased to further state, "Knowing that the area of business development is a top priority in our company, it is a great challenge for me to move from the local to the international arena and by doing so be able to support the whole of CMS in planning and implementing business development initiatives, as well as in international pitches."
