Dear Reader,
As you may have heard, on 1 May CMS will be merging with the firm Olswang in Belgium. With the merger we will have the pleasure of welcoming six new lawyers at our firm, bringing our total number in Belgium and Luxembourg to more than 100. The Olswang team will further strengthen our full-service offering in the areas of EU and Competition law, IP and TMC law. Olswang's managing partner, Dirk Van Liedekerke, becomes a partner in the new structure, which will have a total of 22 partners.
The merger stems from an international merger of CMS with the firms Nabarro and Olswang, announced last year, which will create the sixth largest firm in the world. Following the merger of CMS in January with three Latin American firms in Chile, Peru and Colombia, CMS will have more than 4,700 lawyers, active in 39 countries.
