Stoyana Petrova is an Associate in the EPC team at CMS Sofia. She advises on renewable energy projects and corporate matters, with a focus on legal due diligence reviews and contract drafting across the project lifecycle. Stoyana works with investors, project developers and corporate clients in Bulgaria and across CEE. She joined CMS in 2025 and is a qualified lawyer. 

Stoyana advises local and multinational clients on acquisitions, refinancing, investment screening and corporate matters, mainly in the energy and IT sectors. Before joining CMS, she gained extensive experience in the transport sector, which supports her practical approach to regulatory processes and working with public authorities.

Relevant experience

  • Renalfa IPP on EUR 1.2bn investment programme in PV, BESS and wind projects with joint capacity of around 1.6 GW.
  • Waracle on the successful acquisition of the Bulgarian IT group Hacksoft, which marks the first acquisition of Waracle abroad. 
  • Solar World Aquiris on EUR 11m refinancing of Bulgarian PV Projects.
