CMS Sofia Advises Syndicate of Lenders on EUR 325 Million Renewable Energy & Storage Financing
CMS Sofia acted as the legal advisor to a syndicate of Lenders (UniCredit Bulbank, Raiffeisen Bank International, Eurobank Bulgaria, United Bulgarian Bank, and EBRD) and UniCredit Group (as Sole Global Coordinator, Mandated Lead Arranger, Bookrunner, Account Bank, Sole Issuing Bank, Agent & Security Agent, and Hedge Counterparty) in connection with the approx. EUR 325,000,000 project financing for a renewable and storage portfolio of Sunotec and Solars Energy.
In its first stage, the financing will enable the construction and operation of a three separate projects: (i) Radomir 171.5 MWp PV plant paired with an 89.4 MWh BESS, (ii) Vratsa II 200.4 MWh BESS, and (iii) Miziya 190.4 MWh BESS. The project is a significant step forward in developing Bulgaria’s renewable energy infrastructure and transitioning to a more sustainable energy mix.
CMS provided comprehensive legal support throughout all stages of the transaction, from initial due diligence and structuring and negotiating financing documentation to signing, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for all parties involved.
