After ZhongDe, CMS Hasche Sigle advises Asian Bamboo the second IPO by a Chinese group of companies on the Frankfurt stock exchange.

09/11/2007

Following ZhongDe Waste Technology's IPO in July, Asian Bamboo, a Chinese bamboo producer, will be the second Chinese group to be admitted to the Prime Standard of Deutsche Börse. Trading will start next week.

The Hamburg holding, Asian Bamboo AG, unites three Chinese companies who produce bamboo as a raw material for the food, furniture, paper and construction industries. The company has about 300 employees and increased its turnover last year by approx. 65 per cent. Continued growth rates are expected as demand increases for organic bamboo roots and sprouts suitable for consumption. Asian Bamboo will use the issue proceeds to enter into long-term leases for further bamboo forests in China. Additionally, processing operations of bamboo sprouts and stems are to be expanded. Asian Bamboo is also planning to construct its own factory for bamboo floor coverings.

An experienced team of lawyers from CMS Hasche Sigle operating in close cooperation with the CMS office in Shanghai acted as issuer's counsel, providing Asian Bamboo with comprehensive advice on the IPO. The team drafted the prospectus in English and handled the BaFin clearance procedure. In addition CMS Hasche Sigle's Shanghai office performed the legal due diligence required for a capital market transaction. CMS Hasche Sigle also advised the issuer on conclusion of the assumption agreement with the consortium banks and on the legal restructuring, including formation of Asian Bamboo AG.

ZhongDe Waste Technology is one of the few companies recently listed in the Prime Standard which still continues to develop well. Since trading first started in July ZhongDe Waste Technology's shares have already increased by more than 40%.
