CMS advises AM Ventures on financing round of Additive Drives
Munich — AM Ventures has made a further investment in Additive Drives GmbH in the context of Nordic Alpha Partners’ first investment into the company. Nordic Alpha Partners has acquired a significant minority stake in Additive Drives; the investment amounts to a mid-double‑digit million figure. The financing round strengthens the scale‑up of highly efficient, magnet‑free electric motors, which already require far less energy in production, thereby providing a strategic boost to the global re‑industrialization agenda.
CMS has provided comprehensive legal advice to AM Ventures in connection with Nordic Alpha Partners’ investment and AM Ventures’ additionally committed investment. The advice included, in particular, structuring and transaction‑related advice regarding the participation, coordination and negotiation of the transaction documentation, as well as support throughout the processes up to closing.
Additive Drives is a German manufacturer of next-generation electric motors, combining proprietary 3D and conventional manufacturing processes with extreme efficiency, lightweight design and magnet-free designs and components. Founded in 2020 in Dresden, the company currently serves numerous customers in the industrial, mobility, and infrastructure sectors—with around 70 employees—ranging from Amazon, Airbus, Audi, and Schaeffler to BMW.
