Frankfurt/Main – Essen-based cleantech start-up Greenlyte Carbon Technologies (GCT) has raised EUR 4.5 million in a further pre-seed round of financing. This financing round follows on from the first pre-seed round, in which the company received EUR 3.5 million. The leading German start-up for direct air capture has thus doubled its valuation within six months. Earlybird, Green Generation Fund and Swiss investor Carbon Removal Partners have once again invested, along with other players.
A CMS team led by Dr Florian Plagemann advised Greenlyte Carbon Technologies on all legal aspects of this financing round. The start-up also previously relied on the expertise of the CMS team headed by Dr Florian Plagemann.
Greenlyte develops modular containers that extract pollutants from the air and convert them into green resources – CO2, O2 and H2. These resources can be used across various sectors, including transport, energy and manufacturing, or in carbon storage. The start-up aims to capture 2,050 giga-tonnes of CO2 from the air by 2050.
