CMS advises Danish textile firm Kvadrat on acquisition of SAHCO out of insolvency

28/03/2018

Frankfurt/Main – Danish textile company Kvadrat A/S has acquired long-established firm SAHCO Hesslein GmbH & Co. KG out of insolvency. The Scandinavian group is aiming to boost its international presence through the acquisition, which will take effect from 1 May 2018. The parties agreed not to disclose details of the purchase price.

A CMS team headed by Joachim Kühne and Dr Regine Hagen-Eck advised the Kvadrat A/S group on all legal aspects of the transaction.

Established in 1968 in Denmark, Kvadrat A/S has its roots in the Scandinavian tradition of design. The group, which is headquartered in Ebeltoft near Aarhus, is a leading high-quality textile business supplying architects, designers and consumers worldwide.

SAHCO was established in 1831 and is a leader in the field of textiles, specialising in exclusive upholstery materials and decorative fabrics. The company filed for insolvency in February 2018. The firm will remain at its Nuremberg site and bolster Kvadrat’s upmarket Home division while also expanding the Danish company’s presence in the international market.
