Joachim Kühne has more than 25 years of experience in insolvency administration and
self-administration proceedings, having managed more than 1.000 corporate insolvencies of all sizes. As Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO), he advises companies on the development and implementation of financial restructuring concepts. Joachim draws up and implements insolvency/restructuring plans for his clients and carries out carve-outs and out-of-court liquidations. He also counsels managing directors prior to and during insolvencies in order to identify and minimise personal liability risks and, if necessary, defends them in related proceedings.
Joachim advises shareholders throughout all stages of a corporate crisis and helps creditors asserting and enforcing their rights, representing them either prior to or during the insolvencies of their contractual partners or as a member of the creditors‘ committee.
Joachim, who qualified as a certified lawyer for insolvency law in 2015, has managed numerous distressed M&A projects on both the seller and buyer side. He joined CMS in 1996 and has been a partner since 2001.
