Berlin - easyJet Airline Company Ltd. has signed a lease agreement for a hangar location with the Flughafen Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH (FBB). The hangar will be used for the maintenance of the airline's European fleet and covers an area of approximately 10,000 square metres. Four aircraft can be serviced at the same time. According to current plans, construction is to begin in autumn 2021. The commissioning is planned for the beginning of 2023. The hangar marks the airline's first maintenance hangar location outside the UK. The total investment volume of the project, together with the already existing line maintenance station,estimates around 20 million euros.
A CMS team led by Partner Dr Andreas Otto provided comprehensive legal advice to easyJet Airline Company Ltd. during the negotiations and the contractual arrangement of the lease. easyJet is also relying on CMS for the construction of the hangar.
