CMS advises Mutares on acquisition of Steinmüller Engineering GmbH from IHI Group
Munich – Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has completed the acquisition of long-established Steinmüller Engineering GmbH from IHI Group. Steinmüller Engineering is a specialist in thermal process engineering solutions for the energy and industrial sectors. The acquisition comes at a time when demand is growing for technological solutions to decarbonise energy-intensive industrial processes.
A CMS team jointly led by Anna-Lena Lill and Dr Michael Wangemann provided Mutares with comprehensive legal advice on the transaction. Mutares regularly relies on the expertise of CMS.
Steinmüller employs around 170 people and is headquartered in Gummersbach. In the past financial year, the company generated total output of nearly EUR 100 million. To date, it has completed more than 1,300 thermal process engineering projects for over 500 customers in 80 countries.
