Berlin – Edi.Son Energietechnik GmbH of Wustermark near Berlin is becoming part of the Finland-based Eltel Group. A team led by Ralf Kurney advised the sole shareholder on all legal aspects of the sale process. The parties have not disclosed the purchase price. The acquisition is currently awaiting approval from the merger control authorities.

Edi.Son is a German company specialising in the planning and construction of high-voltage overhead power lines ranging from 110 kV to 380 kV. It was formed in 2005 via a management buy-out. The firm has more than 100 employees and generated sales in excess of EUR 20 million in the last financial year. CMS Hasche Sigle previously advised the sole shareholder, Ralph Sonntag, on the acquisition of the company.

Listed company Eltel has a strong presence in the Nordic, Baltic, Polish and UK markets. This important acquisition is intended to help expand its power transmission and distribution operations in Germany. Ralph Sonntag has a similar view of the transaction: "Edi.Son has grown to a size where I believe being part of a larger international group will drive the development of the company forward."
