Frankfurt/Main – Bruker Corporation, a US provider of scientific instruments and analytical solutions, has acquired Hamburg-based Sierra Sensors GmbH. Sierra develops and produces innovative analytical biosensors. The parties agreed not to disclose financial details.
A CMS team headed by Dr Hendrik Hirsch and Dr Holger Pattberg advised Bruker Corporation on all legal aspects of the transaction. CMS Germany has previously supported Bruker Corporation on a number of acquisitions and disposals.
Bruker Corporation is an international manufacturer of high-end analysis equipment for pharmaceuticals/biotech, clinical diagnostics and industry. Headquartered in Billerica, Massachusetts (USA), the company employs more than 6,000 people across some 90 locations worldwide. NASDAQ-listed Bruker Corporation posted sales of around USD 1.77 billion in 2017. Bruker intends to add Sierra’s spectroscopic analysis procedure solutions to its portfolio of mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and X-ray crystallography systems in drug discovery.
Sierra Sensors GmbH has offices in Hamburg and Greenville, Rhode Island (USA). It develops and supplies biosensor-based analysis equipment for life sciences and clinical diagnostics.
