Düsseldorf – CMS Hasche Sigle has started the New Year by reinforcing the construction law team at its Düsseldorf office, with construction law expert and partner Frank Schneider relocating from the CMS office in Leipzig. Highly experienced counsel Thorsten Schätzlein is also making the move. In Düsseldorf, they are bolstering the team led by partner Michael Brück, which now totals two partners, one counsel and three associates.
Practice head Dr Andreas Otto commented: "We are working to expand our construction law services. This strategic decision is aimed at focusing specifically on complex large-scale projects, plant engineering, and on construction work outside Germany." He added that the practice area retains a powerful presence in Leipzig, with a team comprising three partners and three associates.
As one of the few large law firms with strong construction law expertise, CMS Hasche Sigle is also expanding its leading position in this field outside the highly industrialised Rhine region of Western Germany. "We are now ideally situated to advise our clients in the Rhine-Ruhr district and much further afield on construction and procurement law in an even more focused and innovative way. This move also helps to round off our integrated full-service approach to professional legal advice," said Thomas Glaesmann, managing partner of the Düsseldorf office.
Frank Schneider and Thorsten Schätzlein both have many years of experience in construction and procurement law. As a former corporate counsel for HOCHTIEF, Frank Schneider also has excellent contacts across the construction industry. Thorsten Schätzlein is a qualified civil engineer in addition to his training as a lawyer.
