Bitburg / Frankfurt – The Bitburger Brewery Group is acquiring the shares held by the Radeberger Group in drinks logistics firm Trinks Group. The deal will make Bitburger the fourth shareholder in the Trinks Group alongside Krombacher Brewery, the Warsteiner Brewery and Nestlé Waters, with all shareholders having equal stakes. The purchase is currently awaiting approval from the competition authorities and is expected to come into effect in the first quarter of 2012. The purchase price was not disclosed.
A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by lead partner Dr Hendrik Hirsch advised the Bitburger Brewery Group on all legal aspects of the transaction.
The Trinks Group includes Trinks GmbH in Goslar and sister company Trinks Süd GmbH in Munich. With 16 locations in Germany, the company employs some 1,300 people and generates sales of around EUR one billion.
