CMS Hasche Sigle advises Douglas Holding on sale of Pohland

18/09/2007

Douglas Holding AG has sold its interest in Pohland-Herrenkleidung GmbH & Co. KG to listed company Aurelius AG, registered in Munich. CMS Hasche Sigle advised Douglas on all aspects of this transaction. Lead partner was Dr Oliver Wolfgramm from our Frankfurt office.

Following the sale of Pohland the Douglas Group will now concentrate its fashion activities on women's fashion specialist Appelrath-Cüpper, which currently operates at 15 locations. Menswear specialist Pohland has been in the Douglas group since 1995. In the financial year 2005/06 Pohland generated a turnover of approx. 53 million euros.

Aurelius, which has been operating in the textile sector since the Quelle France takeover, has taken on the 11 Pohland-locations and the complete workforce of 468. There is no plan to change the company name. Aurelius intends to continue the restructuring measures introduced by the Douglas Group and to continue in line with Pohland's current market positioning.
