CMS Hasche Sigle advises LBBW on its interest in Munich leasing company

01/08/2006

CMS Hasche Sigle has advised Landesbank Baden-Württemberg on its interest in LHI Leasing GmbH and the sale of the real estate leasing and funds activities to LHI Leasing GmbH. LBBW has acquired a 51 % interest in LHI from the former sole shareholder Norddeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale, which continues to have an interest of 49 % in LHI. LHI has 230 employees nationwide and manages assets of approx. 19 billion euros. Stuttgart partner Dr Thomas Meyding led the transaction for LBBW with partners Dr Karsten Heider and Dr Claus-Peter Fabian.

In the framework of the participation LBBW has passed on its real estate leasing and funds activities bundled in SüdLeasing GmbH to LHI. LBBW and NORD/LB intend the LHI group to thus become a competence centre for activities in the field of real estate leasing, real estate funds, movable equipment funds and funds for immaterial economic assets in the LBBW and NORD/LB group.

With a balance sheet total of EUR 405 billion last year, approx. 240 branches and 23 support points worldwide Landesbank Baden-Württemberg with approx. 12,550 employees in the group is the largest bank in south-west Germany. In the Federal Republic of Germany LBBW is one of the five largest credit institutions, worldwide one of the 50 largest banks. Its main branches are in Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Mannheim.
