CMS Hasche Sigle advises walter services GmbH on purchase of two call centres from Quelle.Contact Group

Cologne – walter services GmbH has acquired two call centres in Cottbus and Emden from the insolvency assets of the Quelle.Contact Group.

A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by lead partner Dr Petra Schaffner advised walter services on all aspects of the transaction. Services handled by the two call centres include HSE24’s teleshopping business. CMS Hasche Sigle recently advised AXA Private Equity on the acquisition of HSE24. The two call centres owned by the Quelle.Contact Group were part of Arcandor AG until it became insolvent, as was shopping channel HSE24.

The call centre in Cottbus currently has 520 full-time and part-time employees, while the Emden centre employs 75 people. The purchase price was not disclosed. The creditor committee has approved the sale. The transaction is awaiting approval from the competition authorities.

For more than 25 years, walter services has been a leading customer service centre provider in Germany. Based in Ettlingen, the company has some 8,000 employees at 20 locations in Germany, Poland, Austria, Switzerland and Romania.
