Seed financing: CMS advises Brandenburg Kapital on investment in Seqstant

Berlin – Seqstant has successfully completed a seed financing round led by Brandenburg Kapital, the venture capital unit of the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg. Other investors include the Venture League, the Berlin-based business angel network SB21 and the HPI Seed Fund. Seqstant, based in Teltow in Brandenburg, is a spin-off from the Hasso Plattner Institute and has developed a SaaS solution that makes it possible to detect pathogens quickly and comprehensively with one click using sequencing. With the 'LiveGene' analysis software, pathogens from various sample of the patient can be comprehensively identified. The aim is to be able to treat patients with serious infections earlier and in a more targeted manner. Seqstant intends to use the capital for the commercialization of its product, product expansion and the expansion of the team.

A CMS team advised Brandenburg Kapital on all legal aspects of this investment. Investors as well as start-ups and founders of technology companies regularly rely on the expertise of CMS' venture capital teams.

Brandenburg Kapital GmbH is a subsidiary of the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB). As the venture capital arm of the ILB, it has been supporting Brandenburg companies since 1993 by acquiring equity and equity-like investments. The early-stage and growth fund currently has around 100 million euros at its disposal for this purpose.
