Berlin – Berlin-based start-up Nia Health has raised around EUR 3.5 million in a seed round of financing to fund further expansion. A spin-off from Charité University Hospital in Berlin, the company offers digital solutions for the treatment and support of patients with chronic skin conditions. Its products include digital therapeutics, such as the neurodermatitis app Nia, and technologies for monitoring patients and conducting clinical trials. The lead investor in the round is High-Tech Gründerfonds. Other investors include adesso ventures, Ventura BioMed Investors, the fund managed by pharmaceutical industry expert Dr Kurt Schwarz, and additional funders. The fresh capital will be used to expand market share in Germany and to launch in other EU countries in the next two years and prepare for market entry in the US.

A CMS team headed by counsel Dr Friedrich von Spee advised Nia Health on all legal aspects of the financing round.
