Astrid Roesener specialises in national and international M&A transactions, joint ventures and corporate restructuring. Many of her clients pursue a buy & build strategy and she regularly supports in designing a practicable corporate governance applicable in the long term and adequately taking into account the interests of the parties involved. This is particularly important in the case of joint ventures, in which the partners work together on equal footing to realise complex projects. Both large corporations and family-owned businesses rely on her expertise in project management, negotiations and contract drafting. Astrid advises in particular internationally operating industrial companies and businesses in the energy and service sectors, also in the context of market entry in Germany and Europe.
Astrid joined CMS in 2011 and has been a partner since 2022. In 2018 and 2015, she was seconded to the Corporate/M&A team of Alston & Bird LLP in New York and the M&A department of an international group respectively. Astrid was a scholar and research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance. She has been involved in CMS's hydrogen initiative since 2020 and is a keen observer of the latest developments in this future market.
