Birgit accompanies national and international M&A transactions in the key areas of corporate law and intellectual property rights. Her corporate practice covers formation audits as well as the review of shareholdings, corporate structures, share transfers and pledge of shares, loan agreements and duties of disclosure. Birgit’s IP work concentrates on all legal aspects of patents and know-how, trademarks and design, employee and joint inventions as well as licences. She also advises on internal investigations with a focus on money laundering and corruption and deals with setting up transparency register guidelines and notification processes.
After a career in investment banking with two German private banks and a private equity boutique, Birgit worked in a US law firm’s corporate/M&A practice group, focussing on the automotive and pharmaceutical/healthcare sector, before joining CMS as a senior legal consultant in 2018.
