Daniel Hofmann has wide-ranging expertise in product compliance as well as German and EU telecommunications and competition law matters. He specialises in the identification of and compliance with German and EU regulations when placing a product on the market and advises on product safety as well as authorisation and administrative proceedings, e.g., technical products, machinery or consumer products. In this context, he also advises his clients in the product development phase, establishes and evaluates product compliance systems and coordinates complex cross-border projects, such as product launches.

His telecommunications and competition law practice covers, amongst others, matters related to frequency and remuneration regulations, drafting and negotiating sector-specific contracts as well as advising on transactions.

Daniel represents his clients in German and European regulatory, administrative as well as civil procedures, provides employee product compliance training and is a certified Product Compliance Officer (ISO/IEC 17024).

Daniel is principal counsel at CMS. He joined CMS in 2006. In 2011, he was seconded to CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang in London for a year and prior to that to Vodafone Kabel Deutschland GmbH. He regularly publishes and lectures on telecommunications and product compliance issues, e.g., for institutions such as the European-American Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Department of Commerce on product compliance in the EU ("Selling into Europe"). Daniel also co-authored a commentary on the regulations governing electronic media.
