Daniel Otte advises entrepreneurs and family businesses on strategic management and equity interest issues. He is particularly experienced in corporate law disputes and represents clients in and out of court with a focus on conflict resolution among shareholders, compensation claims and cease-and-desist orders in the context of breaches of shareholder duties and disputes between companies and their different organisational bodies. Daniel also advises his clients on incorporations, strategic partnerships and transferring businesses in the case of an anticipated inheritance.
He joined CMS in 2010 and was named partner in 2019. In 2009, he worked for the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Technology, and he was temporarily assigned/seconded to EADS S.A.S. in Paris in 2012.
Alongside his legal practice, Daniel regularly publishes articles on current corporate law topics and is sought after as a speaker by family business‘ associations and at congresses. Due to his special expertise, he was appointed as an expert for the planned modernisation of the German partnership law by the German Bundestag's Committee on Legal Affairs and Consumer Protection in April 2021.
