Inga Hogrefe specialises in advising distressed companies, with a focus on preparing and implementing restructuring plans, insolvency (plan) proceedings and out-of-court restructurings, including under the German StaRUG scheme. Her focus is on financial restructuring and advises her clients on issues relating to banking and credit law in turnaround situations.
Inga also advises international companies on buying and selling insolvent companies as well as on distressed carve-outs. She furthermore represents creditors of distressed or insolvent companies in the enforcement of their claims and in the defence against avoidance actions.
Inga joined CMS in 2024. Prior to that, she worked as a specialist adviser at the Federal Ministry of Finance and as part of the Economic Stabilisation Fund (ESF) staff as well as in financial restructuring for various international law firms, also completing a secondment at a large German credit institution in the area of international project financing.
Inga was awarded the prize of the “Kiel Society of Doctors of Law” for her outstanding PhD thesis in 2022 and was nominated as a “Rising Star” at the ARGE Awards (Insolvency Law & Restructuring) in 2023.
