With more than 15 years of experience in restructuring and insolvency-related consulting, Maximilian Seidel-Hacker advises companies, investors, financiers and insolvency administrators, focusing on three areas in particular:
Supporting companies and financiers in crisis situation, Maximilian provides a range of advisory services including the reorganisation of capital and financing structures, restructuring under the StaRUG scheme (German Act on the Stabilisation and Restructuring Framework for Businesses) or protective shield proceedings and the ongoing monitoring of insolvency filing obligations.
He also advises both buy-side and sell-side clients on distressed M&A transactions, including German and international investors purchasing companies in insolvency, as well as shareholders or insolvency administrators selling distressed or insolvent companies. Maximilian’s clients benefit not only from his long-standing experience and strong network, but also from the firm’s broad legal and industry expertise as well CMS’s international footprint.
Finally, Maximilian collaborates with our experts at the CMS Advisory business management services to develop comprehensive strategies for the restructuring or liquidation of loss-making investments and subsidiaries for investment companies and corporations, implementing the most economically viable solutions for shareholders together with his multidisciplinary team.
Maximilian joined CMS in 2010 and has been a partner since 2021. In 2018, he was seconded to an international consulting firm in London, specialising in restructuring and crisis management.
