Nico Hannemann advises listed and medium-sized companies as well as managing directors and supervisory boards on corporate, energy and climate change issues, with a focus on ESG obligations. He also advises both companies and public bodies on the challenges of the energy transition, in particular on government funding programmes for decarbonisation projects and the ramp-up of the hydrogen market. Drawing on his expertise in corporate organisational structures, particularly matrix structures, he also advises on conversions and restructurings.

Nico joined CMS in 2019. He was named Counsel in 2025.

  • 2021: PhD under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Matthias Casper (University of Muenster), thesis on " The implementation of matrix structures in groups under corporate law using the example of the AG, SE and GmbH”
