Sarah Haan advises medium-sized companies and international groups on restructuring, turnaround and insolvency matters, with a focus on liquidity crises. Her clients include companies across a range of sectors, particularly automotive, healthcare and retail, both before and during insolvency proceedings (standard insolvency proceedings and debtor-in-possession proceedings).

Sarah mainly provides restructuring opinions in accordance with IDW S6, independent business reviews (IBR), assessments of grounds for opening insolvency proceedings in accordance with IDW S11, integrated business planning and protective shield certificates. She also offers operational support in debtor-in-possession proceedings and assists with insolvency-specific liquidity planning and controlling during proceedings.

Before joining CMS in 2026, Sarah worked for a Big Four firm and a restructuring consultancy.

  • Planning, controlling and negotiation of continuation agreements in regular insolvency proceedings in the automotive industry (EUR 100m)
  • Preparation of comparative analyses in connection with the restructuring of a project developer (EUR 4bn)
  • Operational support of a company in the rail industry during debtor-in-possession proceedings (EUR 30m)
