Thomas Fuhrmann, LL.M. (University of Capetown)

Thomas Fuhrmann is Counsel at CMS in Cologne and a certified specialist in intellectual property law. He advises and represents German and international companies on trademark and unfair competition law, focusing particularly on the consumer goods, fashion, and luxury goods sectors. A key area of his work involves protecting and enforcing trademarks in the fashion and luxury goods industry. He assists companies in trademark disputes, particularly cases involving infringement, and represents clients in litigation. Thomas also advises companies on matters of unfair competition, particularly the unlawful poaching of employees by competitors. He works closely with CMS's employment law team to support clients in assessing the legal implications of employee poaching and enforcing their rights through litigation.

Thomas joined CMS in 2020. He qualified as a certified specialist lawyer for intellectual property law in 2025, the same year he was appointed Counsel.
