Thomas Heidemann is a Russia and Eastern Europe expert. He is based in Düsseldorf and Moscow where he advises on complex transactions in Russia as well as central and Eastern European countries. With a good 20 years of experience, Russian and international clients trust him when it comes to cross-border investments from and to Russia. He works on industrial developments, joint ventures and private equity deals with special know-how in the automotive sector but he also advises on investments in renewable energies and other Russian industries.

Thomas is heading the firm’s German Desk in Moscow and the Russian Desk in Duesseldorf and, as such, coordinating German-Russian work of the offices. Before joining CMS, he worked for a large German law firm and managed the Russia and Ukraine practice with offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev.
