Germany: Draft bill implementing AMLD IV
On 22 February 2017 German Federal Government published a draft bill implementing 4th Anti-Money Laundering Directive into German law. With regard to this, the German Finance Minister, Dr. Wolfgang Schäuble said: "We need effective tools for the fight against money laundering and terrorism financing. For this reason we bring the implementation of the 4th Anti-Money Laundering Directive on the way. (…) We create a transparency register to prevent misuse and tighten up regulations on fines." The central electronic transparency register provided in the draft bill will include information on the beneficial owners of companies. A link to the draft bill appears below.
