CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre strengthens its Capital Markets practice

Marc-Etienne Sébire has recently joined the firm as Head of Capital Markets. Marc-Etienne and his team advise corporate clients and financial institutions on Capital Markets transactions, such as debt offerings, IPOs, equity and equity-linked products and structured derivatives.

Marc-Etienne Sébire, 36, holds a Master's degree in Business Law, a further postgraduate degree in the Law and Economics of Banking and Financial Markets from the University of Caen (1997) and the CAPA professional certificate (1999). To date his entire career has been spent with Gide Loyrette Nouel, in the International Capital Markets team. He was based in Paris from 1999 to 2003, then in London from 2004 to 2007 before returning to Paris in 2007. He became a Solicitor in 2007 in the course of his London practice. He was also seconded by Gide, for a year, to Simpson Thacher and Bartlett LLP in New York (2003 to 2004).

His arrival is part of a strategy of strengthening CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre's Finance practice. In the weeks to come he will be joined by two colleagues.

This new team will complement the Banking and Finance practice led by Laurent Mion and Gérard Kling. This follows the addition of Jérôme Sutour's Regulatory / Investment Funds expertise in 2007, and Grégory Benteux's Finance and Structured Debt expertise in 2009 (bringing the current team to 15 lawyers).
The Capital Markets team will also work jointly with the Corporate department headed by Philippe Rosenpick, which now stands at 38 lawyers, and with teams from the international CMS network, which have been strengthened in this field, in early 2011, with the arrival of Daniel Winterfeldt, a leading US Capital Markets lawyer and now a partner of CMS Cameron McKenna in the UK.
