Spitz & Poulle and CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre act as advisors on Groupe Auchan’s €750 million note issue

Groupe Auchan has signed an agreement with German retailer Metro Group to acquire the latter’s Real business in Central and Eastern Europe for €1.1 billion.

Groupe Auchan financed part of the acquisition cost through a €750 million notes issue carried out on 12 December 2012 under its EMTN programme. The ten-year notes pay interest at 2.375%, and are listed on the Luxembourg stock exchange.

Spitz & Poulle acted as an advisor to Groupe Auchan on financing the acquisition, particularly on the notes issue. The Spitz & Poulle team comprised Nicolas Spitz, Partner and Jean-Baptiste Poulle, Partner.

CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre acted as an advisor for BNP Paribas and HSBC Bank plc, the lead managers for the notes issue. The CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre team included Marc-Etienne Sébire, head of the Capital Markets group, and Rosetta Ferrère.
