Klépierre, the European leader in shopping malls, with exclusive focus on continental Europe, has successfully completed its inaugural Green Bond issue, placed with institutional investors, for a total amount of €500,000,000.
The bonds, the proceeds of which are intended to finance or refinance part of a portfolio that comprises eligible green assets and capital expenditures defined in Klépierre's Green Financing Framework, bear interest at a rate of 3.750% per annum and are admitted to trading on Euronext Paris. They will mature on 30 September 2037, marking the longest tenor for a European REIT in the euro debt capital markets since 2022.
CMS Francis Lefebvre acted as legal advisor to Klépierre with a team comprised of Marc-Etienne Sébire, partner, and Victor Delion, associate.
In the context of this transaction, Barclays, BNP PARIBAS, Deutsche Bank, Natixis, Santander Corporate & Investment Banking and SMBC acted as Global Coordinators, ABN AMRO and Crédit Agricole CIB acted as Global Green Structurers and Bookrunners and BBVA, CaixaBank, CIC Market Solutions, IMI – Intesa Sanpaolo, La Banque Postale and Societe Generale acted as Other Joint Bookrunners. They were advised by Gide Loyrette Nouel.
