Márton Lázár is an associate in the Banking & Finance team at CMS Budapest.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest in 2022. During his studies, he was an active member of the Civil Law Scientific Students' Association and the International Diplomatic Students' Association.

Prior to joining CMS, Márton gained experience at leading international law firms, advising on banking and finance transactions.

Relevant experience

  • Corvinus Zrt. – advised on Hungary’s largest-ever multi-billion-dollar acquisition, involving the acquisition by Corvinus Zrt. and VINCI S.A. of 100% of Airport Holding Kft., the operator of Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport. Also advised on the rollover of the target group’s external financing provided by an international consortium of 22 institutional investors and banks, and on the negotiation of the strategic partnership with VINCI Airports S.A.S.
  • Consortium of six foreign banks – advised the syndicate in connection with a EUR 150m cross-border credit facility financing of the development of a battery separator film manufacturer factory and Hungarian FDI screening.
  • Consortium of three leading Hungarian banks – advised on a HUF 35bn term and revolving credit facility, securing working capital financing for a prominent investment-grade borrower.
  • Consortium of nine Asian banks – advised the lenders in connection with the cross-border financing and development by EcoPro BM of a USD 1.492bn cathode active materials plant in Debrecen, Hungary, with an annual production capacity of approximately 108,000 tonnes.
  • Hungarian bank – advised on credit facilities of up to HUF 32.25bn for the refinancing of an acquisition by a Scandinavian renewable energy investment group of multiple SPVs from a Hungarian solar energy company, operating photovoltaic power plants across various locations in Hungary with a total installed DC capacity of 99.37 MWp.
  • Hungarian bank – advised on a EUR 57m credit facility for the refinancing of the acquisition of a Hungarian shopping mall with approximately 45,000 sqm GLA.
  • Erste Bank Hungary Zrt. – advised on EUR 21m and EUR 21.25m credit facilities financing the acquisition of prime office buildings in Hungary.
  • Multilateral development bank – advised on a significant investment into MREL-eligible senior preferred notes to be issued by a major Hungarian commercial bank.
