Bálint is the Head of Tax team and Senior Counsel at CMS Budapest. He is a seasoned tax expert with over 15 years’ experience across Hungary and the EU. 

He brings a rare blend of Big Four consulting, regulatory expertise as a tax authority lawyer, and private practice leadership. He specialises in indirect tax (VAT), corporate tax, tax audits, M&A due diligence, and cross-border compliance.

Bálint is a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and legal departments in industries such as manufacturing, energy, finance, aviation, and technology.

  • A global toy manufacturer on complex tax structuring and tax audit representation.
  • Multinational and domestic companies on corporate tax matters, including group taxation, transfer pricing, thin capitalisation rules, and cross-border structuring.
  • Leading investors and corporates on M&A and transactional tax issues, such as tax due diligence, acquisition structuring, reorganisations, and financing structures.
  • Clients in tax controversy matters, including audits and disputes with tax authorities, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
