Eszter is senior counsel supporting the work of the commercial practice group in the Budapest office. 

She is experienced in drafting various general commercial as well as Media/IT/telecommunication contracts and agreements. She also has considerable experience in supporting companies in the telecom and media sector from regulatory work to the day-to-day support of such companies. Prior to joining international law firms, Eszter worked as in-house counsel for the largest commercial broadcasting company in Hungary for more than 3 years.

  • Liberty Global, the world’s largest international cable business:
    • on the Czech, Hungarian and Romanian aspects of Vodafone’s €19bn acquisition of Liberty Global’s European assets.
    • on the sale of DTH satellite TV operations to M7 Group and continuous support of UPC DTH on all legal issues.
  • Magyar Telekom (a Deutsche Telekom subsidiary) on all content acquisition matters for 8 years, including negotiating, drafting and reviewing program distribution agreements for cable, IPTV, DVB-S and OTT service, license agreements for VoD services in various platforms and agreements for ancillary services (EPG, catch-up, NPVR, etc.), advise in negotiations with collective management organizations, advise in various media and ECS regulatory matters, represent the company in media regulatory related disputes and authority procedures, negotiate and draft agreements for services related to linear program distribution (e.g. uplink, satellite capacity / space segment services, simulcrypt, platform technical services and licenses, signal transmission, hotel agreements, etc.), draft and negotiate marketing agreements and marketing cooperation with content providers, provide assistance in the launch of new services. Furthermore, advise in relation to the acquisition of wide range of copyright and neighbouring right protected contents.
  • T-Systems Hungary, IT Services Hungary (subsidiaries of Deutsche Telekom AG) on a daily basis in various TMT matters, such IT development and service agreements in various sectors, contracting procedures in Germany, Bulgaria, Slovenia and the Czech Republic, and also advising on the specific requirements and customers’ needs in heavily regulated industries, such as e-health and fintech.
  • RTL Group – strategic advisory work in relation to a significant reorganisation project and hard core media regulatory projects.
  • Lime, an electric scooter rental company on entering to the Hungarian market and launching its electronic scooter rental services, including complex regulatory advice and check, localisation of their user agreement and various matters around consumer protection.
  • A company on an exciting spectrum project relating to an in-flight connectivity service in several countries worldwide for a large flight operator.
  • A major media company on setting up of a new content platform service in Hungary.
  • A Chinese multinational telecommunications equipment and systems company on various regulatory matters, including the compliance investigation by the Regulatory Authority of one of its terminal device with basic mandatory requirements set for radio equipment.
