Gábor Király is an of counsel in the Finance team at CMS Hungary, bringing three decades of expertise in banking, finance, and governance, with a particular focus on the Central and Eastern European region.
A highly regarded banking lawyer, Gábor's extensive experience includes project and structured finance, regulatory matters, and distressed debt transactions.
His career has been distinguished by significant involvement in multi-jurisdictional legal issues across CEE/SEE, advisory roles for governmental agencies, and leadership in restructuring and work-out initiatives.
Gábor was initially a partner at CMS from 2002 to 2007, before rejoining the firm in 2024 as of counsel. In addition to his time at CMS, he has held prominent positions at various prestigious institutions, including the National Bank of Hungary during the country's transition, and later in private practice as a partner and country managing officer at an international law firm, as well as serving as general counsel and board member at one of Hungary’s largest banks.
