Kinga Kovács is an associate in the Finance practice group at CMS’s Budapest office. Before joining CMS, she gained experience as a trainee, a junior associate, and then as an associate in another top-ranked international law firm in Hungary.

Her practice primarily focuses on project financing matters, debt capital market transactions, regulatory and restructuring matters, as well as real estate, solar and aircraft financing.

Relevant experience

  • MBH Bank on financing the acquisition of Ringier Hungary Kft. by Indamedia Network Zrt., including reviewing the acquisition and financing documentation, legal opinions, CP verification, and closing mechanics. 
  • MBH Bank on drafting financing documents in the PAS5 and Marina City residential real estate development projects, CP verification, notarisation, registration of security interests, and escrow of pre-emption right declarations.
  • OTP Bank on a hotel development project financing for a real estate development fund. 
  • A major commercial bank on a significant hotel development financing for a new luxury hotel is in downtown Budapest.
  • Feketeréti Napelempark on the refinancing of a PV development project.
  • MBH Bank on the financing of a Hungarian energy drink brand, including preparing the financing documents for refinancing, as well as drafting the bilateral loan agreement, security agreement, pledge agreement, and syndicated loan agreement.
  • A syndicate of seven banks and four affiliated leasing companies on the restructuring of the European leader in full truckload transportation.
  • A leading European real estate investor and developer on Hungary’s first corporate green bond issuance for approximately EUR 86 million and listing, conducted under the Bond Funding for Growth Scheme (“BGS”) of the Central Bank of Hungary (“MNB”), with the client being only the second company headquartered outside Hungary to issue under the BGS.
  • The Hungarian branch of the pan-European commercial banking group on various financings worth more than EUR 50 million for the largest industrial developer in CEE, as well as on increasing its credit line to almost double of their previous amount. 
  • The Hungarian branch of a regional banking group on providing an India-based manufacturing company with a EUR 70 million credit facility, including drafting and executing the financing and security documentation package related to an ongoing greenfield manufacturing plant development in Jászfényszaru, Hungary.
