Miklós is an associate in the commercial practice group at CMS Budapest, where he focuses on the intellectual property, technology, media and communications sectors.

Miklós joined the firm in 2011 as a paralegal and graduated from Eötvös Loránd University in 2014. He qualified as a lawyer in July 2018.

He has experience in various intellectual property issues, including advice on complex copyright and trademark matters, commercial regulatory matters, and drafting, reviewing and negotiating general commercial, software development and licensing agreements. 

He has also assisted in preparing various memoranda concerning commercial, IP, IT and media regulatory issues. He has been involved in media law matters, including regulatory questions and contract reviews.

  • Assistance in national and international intellectual property transactions, assisting clients in trademark registrations, transfers, oppositions and other trademark-related issues, drafting intellectual property licence agreements, trademark portfolio management for numerous firms, including GTC, RTL Group, Revetas Holding and Tesla, such as filing national, EU and international trademark applications, renewals, and providing trademark prosecution services.
  • A major media company on a copyright dispute in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia with a royalty collecting society on the interpretation of broadcasting, retransmission and cross-border services.
  • Partner in Pet Food on the expansion of its trademark portfolio in various countries outside the EU, most recently on the acquisition of PPF, including complex IP advice, and currently on two on-going major European trademark opposition cases.
  • Samsung Electronics on day-to-day legal matters including TMT regulatory, commercial law, contracting and compliance matters.
  • RTL Group (Bertelsmann Group subsidiary) on enforcing its rights to trademarks and copyrights; drafting proper IP agreements to be used with its commercial partners and amendments to IP law affecting the client’s business.
  • The world’s largest food and beverage company on brand protection matters, including a trademark co-existence agreement with a competitor.
  • Csiki Sör, a beer manufacturer, in a landmark case before EUIPO and against Heineken in a trademark opposition case.
  • Magyar Telekom on the IP aspects of launching a completely new line of business and optimising and strengthening the IP portfolio related to it, and on the acquisition of a wide range of copyright and neighbouring right-protected contents.
