Péter is a senior counsel at CMS who has specialised exclusively in IT and telecommunications-related legal issues since his graduation as a lawyer in 2000. He obtained an LLM in regulatory matters in 2008.

From 2012 to 2018, he served as chairman of the IT Law Committee of the Council of European Bars and Law Societies (CCBE) and held the position of IT commissioner of the Hungarian Bar Association until 2019. Currently, he is a member of the IT advisory committee of the Hungarian Bar Association. In addition, Péter is a Certified Information Privacy Professional for EU privacy law (CIPP/E) of IAPP.
Throughout his career, he has held various senior lawyer positions at renowned Hungarian law firms. As a lawyer, Péter has extensive experience in IT-related sourcing, outsourcing and regulatory matters, particularly in the banking and finance sectors. He is recognised as a leading expert in Hungary in eIDAS and e-government services.

Péter also possesses advanced IT development skills in the legaltech field, especially in document generation and legal analytics solutions. He is the author of the publication “Guide on the use of AI for lawyers and law firms in the EU” and other deliveries of the AI4Lawyers.eu project, co-funded by the European Union.

Magyar Telekom (Deutsche Telekom subsidiary) advising on IT contracts, including DORA compliance.
A leading pet food company on the strategic acquisition and group-wide implementation of a new ERP system across all international operations.
Canon Europe on the NIS2 Directive and DORA Regulation compliance.
A global cloud computing platform (hyperscaler) on connectivity services and IRUs.
ChemAxon, a multinational software developer company, on managing its software licensing agreements.
OTP Bank and its fintech affiliates, SimplePay and HelloPay, on a software and cloud licence, support contract and statement of work with AxeFinance for the DSK Bank in Bulgaria; preparing DORA contract templates and playbooks, and reviewing and negotiating high-profile DORA contracts with global ICT service providers.
A leading insurance sector client on NIS2 Directive and DORA Regulation compliance, including the classification of third-party ICT service providers, DORA gap analysis, review and negotiation of DORA compliant contracts, and ongoing support throughout the implementation process.
