Péter is an associate in the Dispute Resolution Group at CMS Budapest. 

Péter brings extensive experience in law enforcement and international cooperation. After graduating from the Police Academy, he began his career at the Budapest Police Department. First he was a detective in the Vehicle Theft Task Force and later worked in the International Law Enforcement Cooperation Centre, overseeing information exchange, international search warrants, and extraditions.

Relevant experience

  • Hungarian National Police, Counter Terrorism Centre (TEK) – Liaison Officer (Intelligence Directorate, International Department):
    • he liaised with foreign police, intelligence services, and representatives with diplomatic status; and
    • he was a member of the Special Rescue Team, whose task was to rescue Hungarian citizens in distress abroad, whether due to criminal acts (e.g. kidnapping) or other crisis situations (natural disasters, civil war).
  • Hungarian National Police HQ (ORFK), INTERPOL National Central Bureau – Scope expanded to full criminal international information exchange.
  • Hungarian National Police HQ (ORFK), International Criminal Cooperation Center: 
    • provided 24/7 international duty;
    • coordinated Schengen-area criminal cooperation and information exchange;
    • made leadership decisions outside office hours in urgent cases and supervised and directed colleagues nationwide;
    • organised and executed air escorts for detainee transfers from abroad.
  • Investigator at the Budapest Police Headquarters Anti-Vehicle Crime Department: 
    • performed urgent investigative actions in rotating shifts; and
    • investigated vehicle thefts, carried out hot pursuits, and led cases through to offender identification.
