Zsófia is a senior counsel in the CMS Budapest office who specialises in energy law and who has in-depth experience in the energy sector.

Zsófia has been working at CMS since 2006 and joined the Energy, Projects & Construction team in 2018. She advises clients in energy projects including solar power plant development, acquisition and financing; e-mobility service provision; regulatory and licensing issues; EPC and O&M contract and PPA, and other contract drafting and negotiation.

Before joining the EPC team, Zsófia worked extensively on different corporate matters and M&A transactions. She has been involved in major Hungarian PPP and property development projects.

Relevant experience

Zsófia has advised:

  • Several international professional and financial investor companies in the acquisition or development of different Hungarian solar power plant projects, such as Green Source GmbH, Equitix International, WattKraft or Renalfa and EDPR.
  • Several Hungarian commercial banks in the financing of solar power plant projects in Hungary, including Erste, UniCredit, K&H, and Raiffeisen.
  • Several companies in the development of on-site solar power plants, both in self-consumption and PPA structure, including Helexia, a major German OEM, and Prologis.
  • Several Hungarian companies in drafting and negotiating EPC contracts relating to different energy projects, including MOL and BERT.
  • Several Hungarian and international companies in drafting and negotiating Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs and VPPAs), and Aggregation Service Agreements, including Electron Holding Zrt. And one of Hungary's leading paper industry companies.
  • Hungarian and international companies in obtaining various trading licences, e.g. electricity trading licences, EV charging point operation licences, and private cable permits, and handling day-to-day regulatory matters for companies including Trafigura, Prologis, EDF Trading, and a leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer.
