Zsófia is an associate in the real estate team at CMS Budapest.

She graduated from the University of Szeged in Hungary in 2011. She completed a five-month traineeship in Brussels at the Council of the European Union in 2012. 

Zsófia has in-depth experience in a wide range of real estate matters, including sale and purchase transactions, development and construction projects, commercial lease agreements and due diligence investigations, including the preparation and negotiation of transactional documents.

She has spent an eight-month period on secondment in the legal department at Cordia, the subsidiary of the Hungary based Futureal Group, one of Central Europe’s 10 largest property development and investment group. She acted as deputy for the chief legal counsel.

Relevant experience

  • GTC White House on the support of several lease agreements and the sale of White House, a historic loft building offering 2,000 sq. ft. of modern, unique office space, while the new part of the building has 19,500 sq. ft. of office space.
  • One of the largest shopping malls in Hungary, on the full restructuring of its operation.
  • Torony Real Estate Investment Fund, managed by Diófa Alapkezelő, on the acquisition of the Alkotás Point office building in Buda.
  • Portico Investments on the sale of a retail portfolio consisting of three shopping centres, all in Budapest, included legal support with all aspects of the transaction.
  • NEPI Rockcastle Plc on the acquisition of the Arena Plaza, the second largest retail centre in Budapest, by: (i) the purchase of all the issued shares in and shareholder loan receivables against Symmetry Arena Ingatlankezelo, the owner of the mall, from Lanebridge Investment Management Limited; and (ii) the purchase of senior loan receivables from a consortium of financing banks.
  • Magyar Posta Takarek Ingatlan Befektetesi Alap a real estate fund, owned by Magyar Posta and managed by Diofa Alapkezelo Zrt, on the acquisition of Infopark Building, an office complex from CA Immobilien Anlagen AG. Infopark Building A, which has a floor area of 13,700 sq. m.  
  • The subsidiary of a leading private equity firm advising funds that invest globally in real estate, equity, credit and other financial assets on the sale of a portfolio consisting of two mixed use building on the Andrássy boulevard.
  • A major real estate investor on the restructuring and managed bankruptcy process of two large real estate companies (owning altogether five office buildings) and subsequent sale with a deal value in excess of over EUR 60 million.
