Telework: Extension of the transitional period for social security affiliation for cross-border workers

The transitional period provides for an administrative tolerance, allowing cross-border workers to continue to telework from home, without fear of changing their social security affiliation if the threshold provided for in the European legislation is exceeded (25% of the working time).

Initially, the transitional period was to end on 31 December 2022, but it has been extended by 6 months, until 30 June 2023.

Social minimum wage : New increase on the horizon

From 1 April 2022, the minimum social wage for unqualified workers is 2.313,38 EUR and 2.776,05 EUR for qualified workers.

A recently introduced bill provides that from 1 January 2023, the amount of the minimum social wage will be increased by 3.2%, i.e. 2.387,40 EUR for unqualified workers and 2.864,88 EUR for qualified workers.

The bill has not yet been adopted, but it is expected to be adopted before the end of the year.
