On January 27, 2025, the Agency for Safety, Energy and Environment (“ASEA”) published in the Official Gazette of the Federation the notice that sets forth the 2025 and 2026 program whereby the permit holders of service stations that sell gasoline (gas stations, “Service Stations”) are required to submit the reports detailing the results of their compliance assessment of the Mexican Official Standard NOM-004-ASEA-2017 of their Vapor Recovery Systems (“SRV” for its acronym in Spanish) of gasoline for the regulation of emissions.

The obligation to submit these reports is scheduled on a monthly basis and applies to those permit holders of Service Station permits located in certain municipalities of the Metropolitan Areas of the Valley of Mexico, Monterrey and Guadalajara and of the States of Tamaulipas, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Veracruz, Baja California and Chihuahua.

Compliance with this obligation may be carried out in person or electronically. For those permit holders who have already started SRV operations and meet certain conditions, they will only need to submit the initial reports detailing the results according to the new schedule published in this notice.
