We are pleased to invite you to the CMS Insurance Day 2025 on Thursday, 15 May 2025 from 14:00 to 19:30 CET (including buffet dinner) at our office in Amsterdam.
Impactful changes
Insurance and liability law is changing rapidly, both nationally and in Europe. On Insurance Day 2025, we will discuss this extensively in an interactive manner. The three topics that will be central to our panel discussions are:
- Product Safety and Liability: New EU directives are leading to developments on a national and European level. What does this legislation mean for insurers, and what impact does it have on liability?
- International Claims Handling: What should you look out for in international claims, what are the 'common pitfalls' and how can you avoid them?
- Developments in Insurance Law: We will discuss developments in insurance law that are important in practice, such as loss occurrence policies and progressive claims, and how they relates to other aspects of insurance law such as disclosure obligations.
For each topic we will analyse recent rulings, discuss their implications for the insurance market and engage in discussion with our prominent panellists:
- Klaas Brand – Managing Director, McLarens NL
- John R. Williams – Lead Underwriter Europe, DUAL
- Frank Dado – Branch Manager NL & CCO Commercial Insurance Benelux, Zurich Insurance
- Gottfried Bos – Chief Claims Officer, Marsh NL
- Thomas Maur – Partner, CMS Germany
- Jörgen Eklund – Partner, CMS Sweden
- Anne Renard – Counsel, CMS France
- Kim van Zummeren – Counsel, CMS Belgium
- Elizabeth-Anne Larsen – Senior Associate, CMS UK
Due to the international nature of the seminar, it will partly be conducted in English. In addition, there will be plenty of opportunity to network between the panel discussions, and we will end the day together with drinks and a buffet dinner.
