CMS has advised Garden Capital Group, an entity controlled by the Dijkstra family, on its sale of a majority stake in the Dutch hotel group Eden Hotels to an affiliate of KSL Capital Partners (KSL).

Eden Hotels owns and operates 14 hotels with almost 2,000 rooms in Amsterdam and other major Dutch cities. The business has been founded and developed by the Dijkstra family over almost 75 years and includes, among others, the 400-room Eden Hotel Amsterdam as well as the Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam American. Eden Hotels employs over 500 people across its hotels and central office.

KSL is a private equity firm specialised in the travel and leisure sector. The investment will allow Eden Hotels to access KSL’s international hospitality experience and KSL’s financial resources to invest into the existing portfolio. The partnership will seek to grow the Eden Hotels platform through the acquisition of complementary city centre hotels in other Dutch as well as European destinations.

The CMS team was led by Roman Tarlavski and consisted of Dena Mokhberolsafa, Robert Jong, Bob Barnhoorn, Florine Goemans, Robin Sijbesma, Pieter de Kanter, Herman Boersen, Jarrik Haust, Nigel Hensen, Fleur van Assendelft de Coningh, Erik Jonkman, Jenny Noordermeer, Etienne Courbois and Bob van Zijl.
