CMS appoints three counsels and one partner: Annemieke Hazelhoff, Gieneke van Nierop, Mariëlle de Blok and Oskar van de Weijer

CMS appoints attorney-at-law Annemieke Hazelhoff and assigned civil-law notaries Mariëlle de Blok and Gieneke van Nierop as counsel and attorney-at-law Oskar van de Weijer as partner as per 1 January 2023. These appointments further strengthen CMS's service in various practice area groups.

Annemieke Hazelhoff is a homegrown talent with over twelve years of experience as an attorney-at-law in our Competition & EU practice area group. She co-heads the Dutch Competition & EU team and heads our international CMS Competition Associates group. Clients praise her as an expert in the field of competition matters such as the application of the cartel prohibition, merger control, state aid and EU law matters such as FDI and sanctions. Hazelhoff advises clients across various sectors including the mobility and energy sectors, and assists them in proceedings against and at the Authority for Consumers & Markets and the European Commission.

Gieneke van Nierop is an assigned civil-law notary in our Corporate/M&A practice area group. Her knowledge and expertise focus on company law and the law of artificial persons. Van Nierop deals with takeovers, restructuring projects, domestic and cross-border mergers, spin-offs and legal status conversions and corporate housekeeping issues.​ A specific area of her expertise is regulated markets, where she provides advice with regard to articles of association, governance, including governance codes and corporate structures.

Mariëlle de Blok is an assigned civil-law notary in our Real Estate & Construction practice area group. She specialises in commercial (international) real estate transactions and project development. De Blok assists clients in the creating and approving of sale and purchase agreements, notarial deeds and the setup of complex property law structures. She focusses on the establishment of rights in rem ((sub) ground lease, (sub) right of superficies, easements, mortgages rights) and divisions into apartment rights. Her clients include (inter)national investors, project developers, pension funds, government organisations, health institutions and financial institutions.

Oskar van de Weijer is a lawyer in our Litigation & Insurance practice area group. He has extensive experience in (international) insurance disputes and complex liability litigation, and he advises many of the largest global insurers and businesses, as well as D&Os and other parties in the insurance sector. Van de Weijer specialises in cover and liability matters in relation to liability policies, such as professional liability, construction related liability, D&O liability and transactional liability (W&I).
