The transaction strengthens the financial position of Luz del Sur, part of the China Three Gorges Corporation group, and supports its growth in the Peruvian energy sector.

CMS Grau advised Banco BBVA Perú (“BBVA”) as lender in the structuring and negotiation of a revolving credit facility for up to USD 100 million in favor of Luz del Sur S.A.A. (“Luz del Sur”), which will be destined to different corporate uses.

Luz del Sur holds an electricity distribution concession in the southern part of Lima, as well as Cañete and Huarochiri; and its subsidiaries operate multiple power plants in Perú. Luz del Sur is a subsidiary of China Three Gorges Corporation, one of China's largest power generation companies and the parent company of China Yangtze Power, operator of the world's largest power plant, the Three Gorges Dam.

The closing of the transaction occurred on September 17, 2025.
